HLC Lunch and Learn

This session is especially important for SSA staff, as your role is vital to the success of the visit. In this session we will discuss:
· All things HLC and the Accreditation Process
· Key details surrounding the Accreditation Visit in October
· An Open Q&A to address your questions and concerns
The HLC visit is a significant event for Henry Ford College, and we want to ensure you feel well informed, confident, and prepared for the visit. Your presence and engagement are critical to showing the strength of our community and contributions of SSA staff.
We look forward to seeing you online and working together as we get ready for the Accreditation visit.
Upcoming SSA Election - Nominations
Nominations are being accepted for SSA Union Vice-President, SSA Treasurer, and one Steward position. These positions are explained in the Constitution and Bylaws document (Found in General or Member resources tabs). If you are interested in running or would like to make a nomination, please notify Jeremy Tabor at (jtabor@hfcc.edu). Nominees will be asked to submit a brief biography for the membership to read.
· Vice-President - term ends December 2028
· Steward - term ends December 2028
· Treasurer- term ends December 2028
Nomination submission: now through October 17, 2025, at 4:00 pm. If you are nominated, you will receive a request to accept or decline the nomination. You must be a Voting Member for one year before the election to run for an Executive Board position. You must accept/decline by October 24, 2025, at 4:00 pm. If you accept a nomination, you are also responsible for submitting your bio and photo by October 29, 2025, at 4:00 pm.
To prevent any timing issues, we highly encourage members to submit their nominations as early as possible.

President Kavalhuna's Farewell Open House
It’s time to bid a grateful farewell to President Russ Kavalhuna and his family. After 7 years as our president, Russ will leave for Western Michigan University at the end of June.
We encourage everyone to join us Monday, June 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Atrium of the ASCC Building for refreshments and conversation. There will be some time for comments starting around 6:00 p.m., if you want to share anything publicly with Russ and the College community.
Please mark your calendar! We very much hope to see you there. Please also share this information as appropriate with people who might not otherwise see it.
